Can Microsoft Copilot actually cite you?
Four things have to be true before Microsoft Copilot can name your site in an answer. This checks all four against Microsoft’s own agents, and tells you which one is in the way.
01The catch
What most sites get wrong about Microsoft Copilot.
Copilot has no crawler of its own. Copilot reads the Bing index, so being absent from Copilot is usually a Bing problem with no AI in it, and sites that treated Bing as optional for a decade inherit that decision here.
A pass means bingbot can reach the site. Whether Bing has actually indexed the pages is a separate question, and one that Bing Webmaster Tools answers and this check does not.
