- A prompt set is the fixed list of questions used to measure a brand's AI visibility, held constant so that results are comparable between runs. It is the instrument of the measurement, and a share-of-answer figure means nothing without the prompt set that produced it, because changing the questions changes the number.
01 In practice
Good prompt sets are written the way buyers actually type, which is longer, lower-case and more specific than keyword research suggests. "i need a top rated ndis nurse in queensland for home visits" is a real question; "best NDIS provider" is a keyword wearing a question mark.
The set should also vary in kind rather than in wording. An open recommendation, a shortlist request, a switch or alternatives question, and a direct comparison each surface different competitors; five rewordings of the same question return the same answer five times and read as signal when they are repetition.
