KoldOS vs Semrush: a toolkit, or a team?
Semrush and KoldOS are bought for different reasons. The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit is a module inside a large marketing suite, published at "$99/mo per domain billed annually", tracking 25 custom prompts daily and reporting mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity alongside an AI readiness site audit. KoldOS is a generative engine optimisation agency in Australia, where the measurement opens an engagement that continues into the technical and editorial work. The suite is the cheaper way to add a visibility number to a stack a team already logs into. The agency is what a business buys when the number has been known for months and nothing has changed.

02When to pick them
Pick Semrush if your team already lives in it and the budget is one line
A marketing team already running Semrush for keyword research, audits and competitive analysis gets AI visibility for $99 per month per domain, in the interface it opens every morning, on the same invoice and against the same competitive set. That is a genuinely good deal, and the integration is worth more than a marginally better standalone tool would be. Adding a tab beats adding a vendor when the team has the capacity to act on what the tab says.
03Questions
- What does the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit cost?
- Semrush publishes it at "$99/mo per domain billed annually", with additional users as an add-on starting at $45/mo. That was read from the Semrush AI pricing page on 8 August 2026.
- Are 25 tracked prompts enough?
- For a narrow category it can be a fair sample. For a business with several product lines, buyer types or markets, 25 questions will not stretch across them, and the resulting figure describes one slice rather than the whole. Whether it is enough is settled by writing out the questions buyers actually ask and counting them.
- Does Semrush cover Claude?
- The published inclusions name "Mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, and Perplexity". Claude is not named on that page, which is worth knowing for any brand whose buyers are technical.
- Is an AI readiness site audit the same as technical GEO work?
- An automated audit finds the problems that can be expressed as rules, which is real value and covers a lot of common ground. Cases where a site is technically clean and still absent from answers usually turn on entity clarity or authority, and neither is something a scanner can report on.
- Should a business drop Semrush if it engages KoldOS?
- No. Semrush covers a great deal of ground that has nothing to do with AI answers, and the search foundations it monitors are what generative visibility is built on. Dropping the suite to fund an agency trades a broad instrument for a narrow one.
